Stubbs
Sherry and Stubbs
I adopted my dog when he was about 9 months old from the dog shelter. He needs lots of medical attention. When viewing dogs in the cages, HE was so sweet with a gentle whimpers & using his paws.. saying please take me home. I had Stubbs for 17-1/2 years. He had taught me to love in a newfound way, he was my very first child. When Stubbs got cancer & suffered the last 2 years; even though I knew the end could come any day - I pretended he was still a young & handsome. One his last day alive (Saturday after Good Friday) he could no longer stand up & I had to put eggs in his food to get him to eat. I had prayed that I would NOT have to put him "down" but that was not to be. I went to the vet with my long time best friend, held Stubbs in the waiting room. I stayed with him the whole time. On Easter morning after crying & grieving day/night, I asked God to give me a sign that my best friend was now in heaven. The most beautiful rainbow colored kite come out of the massive grey clouds & was not visible to the naked eye - VERY overcast. That beautiful kite landed right near my feet, and I got my sign that Stubbs was in heaven. If I make it to heaven - it will be Stubbs who greats me at the pearly gates.
