My name is Greg and I would like to tell you about a very special dog, her name is Nala. Nala is a Susquehanna Service Dog and came into my life after my spinal cord injury. Prior to my injury I was very independent and confident. However, that all changed in 1999, when I became paralyzed from the chest down. I was no longer independent nor confident.
Receiving Nala changed all that, she perform numerous tasks that gave me my independence back and improved my self-esteem and attitude as well. With her help I was able to return to college and received my master's degree. Without Nala I would not have the independence or abilities I enjoy today. This special service dog has taught me much about life and dealing with its adversities and joys.
